AID is a growing yet established consulting firm located in central New Jersey, offering
professional services in non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT/NDE) of highway
infrastructure (bridges and pavements), pavement evaluation and design, geotechnical
design and subsurface investigation, subsurface and utility mapping, and forensic
studies. AID owns and operates an array of NDT equipment, including a Laser Crack
Measurement System (LCMS), Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD), various airlaunched and ground-coupled Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) antennas, and many
others such as a high-speed profiler and walking profilers. In addition, AID runs its own
soils, asphalt, and concrete materials testing laboratory.

Job Description
This is a full-time position with full benefits for a qualified Senior Engineer/Subsurface
Utility Engineering (SUE) Manager. The candidate should have a B.S.C.E. degree or
higher (M.S.C.E. preferred) with thorough knowledge of Geophysical technologies
applied in SUE. He/she should be well-versed with geophysical testing and analysis
methods that include surface geophysical equipment, including RF Pipe and Cable
Locators, Ground Penetrating Radar, and electromagnetic induction devices as well as
utility locating experience with vacuum excavation equipment. The immediate
responsibilities of the successful candidate may include but not limited to coordinating
the execution of multiple SUE projects, QA/QC, acting as a subject matter expert as
well as assisting with project management. Projects typically involve conducting site
reconnaissance visits, designating, and locating subsurface utilities, and analyses of
geophysical test data (e.g., analysis of GPR data, etc.). In addition, responsibilities will
include preparing proposals and compiling cost estimates; as well as, preparing
technically and grammatically sound project reports. The candidate will be expected to
manage and supervise other staff members including SUE Technicians.
Salary: $75,000/yr – $100,000/yr, depending on experience and credentials.

Requirements

– 10+ years of SUE experience in a professional or management capacity
– Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience
– Strong knowledge in technical utility locating and proficiency in the CI/ASCE 38-02
Standard
– Knowledgeable in Bentley Microstation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
– Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and
collaboration with others
– Professional License is a plus but not required
– Proficiency in technical writing and verbal communications
– Proficiency in MS Office suite
– Proficiency in GPR software (RADAN, IDS-IQ Maps or similar) or other NDT software
– Knowledge of programming languages is desirable (e.g., Matlab, other)
