Senior NDT Engineer

Job Description

This is a full-time position with full benefits for a qualified NDT Senior Engineer. The candidate should have a B.S.C.E. degree or higher (M.S.C.E. preferred) with thorough knowledge of NDT technologies applied in civil engineering.

He/she should be well-versed with NDT testing and analysis methods that include GPR (for Asphalt thickness measurement and Subsurface utility Engineering (SUE)), Impact Echo (IE), Surface Analysis of Seismic Waves (SASW), pavement testing and evaluation. Knowledge of other NDT technologies such as Infrared Thermography, Electrical Resistivity, Ultrasonic Testing, FWD, LCMS or others is highly desirable. It is also preferable that the candidate has some knowledge of geotechnical engineering and geophysical engineering. Effective oral and written communication skills are required.

The immediate responsibilities of the successful candidate may include but not limited to the execution of NDT/NDE projects, QC/QA of NDT engineering design projects as well as assisting with project management. These projects typically involve conducting site reconnaissance visits and performing NDT testing; evaluating the existing condition of pavements; locating subsurface utilities, analyzing conventional and NDT test data (e.g., analysis of GPR data, LCMS and backcalculation of FWD data, etc.); preparing proposals and compiling cost estimates; as well as, preparing technically and grammatically sound project reports. The candidate is also expected to supervise other staff members including NDT Technicians.

Signing Bonus: $10,000 – Signing Bonuses will be paid 50% at start of employment, and 50% after 6 months of satisfactory employment and performance.


Requirements

– B.S. or higher degree in Civil Engineering with strong NDT background

– At least 5 years of consulting experience in civil engineering with NDT experience (with references)

– Experience in infrastructure testing and evaluation

– Proficiency in technical writing and verbal communications

– Proficiency in MS Office suite

– Proficiency in NDT software (RADAN, GRED HD, SpaMgr, RoadDoctor)

– Knowledge of C++, Matlab or other programming languages is desirable
